I was roughly halfway up the mountain, driving on an old gravel (more like stones) road, when I figured, I’m probably not in the right place. I was looking for this. I just couldn’t get close. In the end, I just came around from the other side via a way @picsby_mike and @bhlash had gone. When I finally got there (on the phone to Mike), the rain rolled in and that was that… ah well..
Next time, I’ll actually load all the details in the GPS 🙂

Unlucky Sean. Just be careful re: GPS / SatNav – you still need to keep you’re wits about you and not see it as gospel, following it blindly. When using them I’ve sometime turned around & thought to myself that there’s now way I going up that ‘road’ no matter what it’s telling me!
I was out exploring, with no deadline, so following odd roads is fine then. I actually found a wonderful viewpoint which I marked on the GPS favourites, so it wasn’t all a loss. Besides, I’m aiming to do a lot more looking around the Burren National Park..
Its a nightmare getting there man. we went up on motorbikes via a gravel road on the southside of lough Rea. Not possible with a car on this road. Not aware of another access road, but im sure there is if they got all that gear up there!
