Quiet, shy, retired. All words used to describe Mick Flannery. His songs are miserable and depressing in the most uplifting way. He’s not much of a talker, but still manages to elicit laughs from the audience with his bare banter. And he’s not afraid to say it like it is, “here’s the most depressing song of the lot of them”. Wonderful gig, even if Chloe (his sound engineer) did turn the lights down on me! Fortunately my new 50mm f1.4 can almost see in the dark.

Hi Sean,
Happy Christmas to you and your family – here’s hoping for a few clear days and nights in 2009 to get a few shots,
BR,
John
Is the 50mm the result of the Tack Sharp Podcast?
Thanks John. Just getting used to how Word Press is handling comments! Many happy returns and the same for this coming year.
Richard, I’ve never heard of that podcast actually. I just needed as faster 50mm and couldn’t afford to get a 1.2, so the 1.4 it was. I actually wanted to get it for ages, but when a friend was going to NY for a few weeks, I had him pop into B&H for me.
Nicely captured, and explained.
