Bad to worse

Sigh. The Superdrive in my Powerbook 12" seems to have given up the ghost. It won't read or write anything. I intially had a problem writing disks a few days ago, but I tried some normal disks to test it's reading ability and it just spat them back out. Not good. And more so because the cost of replacing the drive is 1/3 to 1/2 what's it currently worth. Ironically before this happened I was searching around for a 15" PB second hand. Much as I'd love a new Mac Book Pro, I hear Rosetta is a total dog running Photoshop on the Intel iMacs. I heard a rumour one that got dropped and is in for refurb might be available soon. Meanwhile I'm backing up new stuff off the Powerbook via Airport on my iMac Superdrive.
I have to say my trip out around the near part of Connemara last Sunday turned out some of the nicest images I've gotten recently despite the overcast day. I'm really pleased with loads of them and will be working hard to get them processed and ready for stock, the website and print. I'm going to finally send a disk to Alamy too. Ireland West will be using some stuff again this year too, which is good. I'll be hoping to increase my stock sales this year and upgrading my camera and lens system this year. Much as I love Canon the price of the Nikon D200 is great. I'm also jealous of the Nikkor 18-200 VR lens just out on the market. I've the Sigma version and while it's a useful lens, it's not in the same league at all. I'm actually thiking in terms of the Canon 1D MkII N though. I'll debate it. It's a lot of money to spend.
Anyhow, onto working on backups.

Okay, Okay, enough already. I'm posting

I've had so much stuff to blog and not bothered. Got my driving license. Transfered ownership of my car into my name. Got my first insurance quote. Ringing for lessons tomorrow. Sigh. It's all money.

I found Dungeon Master for OSX! Yippeee! I used to love playing this on my Atari 1040 STE back in the day. I got really far but never finished it. I'll have to try harder this time.

I'm still waiting on my VAT number to be validated. My accountant say they've put it through but it's not showing up there. One of the companies that pay me won't forward VAT until it validates. Major pain in the f*ck*n' ass. I'm left in the lurch til then. I've loads of invoices to send out too.

Tattoo project is still ongoing and I've had a bunch of people in studio. I'll be doing selects with some of the people tomorrow.

Bob Mould from Husker Du is on in Roisin Dubh tomorrow.

Chris Difford from Squeeze played on Tuesday. If anyone wants to see a 1 minute video from 'Is That Love?" leave a comment and I'll consider the waste of bandwidth for you in 3GP form.

Enough.
